Snape and the dragon (painting) -- HP characters (various).
Hi there! So I'm still alive even though it might seem otherwise. I have moved out twice in less than two months and among other RL life stuff I've been quite busy. I also realize that I've been saying that for quite some time (except the moving out part). :/ Hopefully, I'll be around a bit more often now and I'll reply to comments. I cannot say for sure, because every time I think I'll have some extra time something random happens that throws my schedule off.

Also, I just disabled all my anti-spam settings on my e-mail account, because a lot of e-mails were going directly to my junk box. So, if I haven't replied it might be because of that.

The first painting is a commissioned piece done for josanpq. The picture is about Snape and a dragon about to duel. It is based on her story "The Brewer" and you can find it here:

http://tales-of-josan.livejournal.com/50528.html

As with all other other commissioned pictures, please, don't use it for icons, layouts, banners, etc. The picture belongs to josanpq; you can ask her permission if you want to use the picture.

There's three other images that are coloured sketches. The first one is Snape and Lockhart, the second one Dumbledore and Aberforth and the third one Neville, Trevor and Augusta.

Beautiful job on the dragon sketch. Coincidentally, I found that story this weekend and loved it, so I doubly enjoyed seeing the painting.

All of the sketches are wonderful. I love the one of Albus and Aberforth. I do think, however, that Neville's uncle gave him the toad. (Algie? I think it's the one who dropped him out the winder.)

Thank you! I'm glad to hear that the dragon picture works well for Josan's story.

And, yes, Neville's uncle was the one who gave him Trevor. I really need to double check those things. :/

As always, thank you so much for leaving a comment, Brieza. :)

Welcome back Cal! Awesome art as always. The Dueling Club picture is fantastic. I love how Snape is filtering out most of the conversation and imagining and horrible death for Lockhart. Hehe. The Dumbledore men and their animals picture is perfect and the Longbottoms are just *too cute*.

Hello!

I love how Snape is filtering out most of the conversation and imagining and horrible death for Lockhart.

I almost feel bad for Snape having to deal with that guy. :)

As always, thank you so much for all your comments, Bronells. :)

Welcome back! Such fabulous work. The colors on the dragon piece are just gorgeous, and the Lockhart one cracks me up!

Thank you for the welcome and the comment! I'm very glad that you like the colors on the dragon picture. :)

TOTAL LOVE. Not to make you feel bad about not posting, but I have totally missed your art. I love them all, but the dragon is beautiful!

I know it's kind of stupid to comment just to say I am speechless. Well, I am. The dragon piece is about the most amazing piece of art I've seen in a long time. Congratulations!

Hey, you're making me blush!! :)

I'm very glad that you like the dragon picture and thank you so much for leaving a comment. :)

God, I love your work.

The way you draw always reminds me of Michael Turner. It's in the eyes, I can tell. No matter who the character is, they have a sense of innocence in their eyes. You and Mr. Turner always capture that beautifully. :)

Example 1 and example 2.

Just thought you should know that. :)
caladan_ddcaladan_dd on August 31st, 2006 11:54 pm (UTC)
Oh, man!! I love Michael Turner's stuff. I really like he's style. And yay! if the way I draw reminds you a little bit of his drawigs, then I'm a very happy panda. :)

And thank you so much for leaving a comment. :)

These are absolutely beyond beautiful. I marvel at your talent. I particularly like the detail in the Snape/Dragon one, but they are all winners! Fantastic!

Thank you! I'm very glad that you like the pictures, particularly the Snape/Dragon one.

Hmm. Here's an interesting thought: every animal that's been given a name has had something to do with the plot of HP, even Hagrid's dog Fang to a lesser extent. And if Neville's gran did give Trevor to him, is it possible that our roaming amphibian has more up his sleeve than we know? Hmmmmmm.

Love your art, by the way. This has not changed. ;) I especially enjoy Snape's thought bubble and the weathered look of Aberforth's robes.

I'd love to see Trevor getting some spotlight. Although, a lot of people, just told me that it was Neville's uncle who gave him Trevor.

Awwww! I love the goat! More; I love the way Fawkes is looking at the goat. He looks as if his strict code of manners has been breached. Bless!

Thank you! I'm very glad that you like the way I drew the goat and that Fawkes's expression works well.

Every time you post some new art I get even more excited about my commission. Right now I'm pretty damn giddy.

I adored the piece with Neville and his Gran. Too cute. It always makes me happy to see Neville happy.

Don't worry too much about the goat, but if you want to do any others like that in the future, it's good to remember that sheep/goats have fairly narrow, wegge-shaped heads, though wider at the top than at the nose, & unlike dogs the eyes are at sides like a horse's, & there is no dip below the brow - the slope of the face goes right on towards the nose)

Anyway, once again I have to say You've got a great, finished style I really like, the Dumbledore - Aberforth & Snape - Lockhart are my personal favorites of this group :)

Oh, man, thank you for the description! I shall have that in mind next time. Although, I should really get off my lazy butt and look for some reference. :)

Oh mine, what a lovely sight in this afternoon.
Wonderful works, as always, hon.

Haven't seen you around for a long time though. I thought you might left the fandom, which is a tragedy. *cling*

Yeah, I've been rather crazy. Oh, I won't leave fandom (even though I'm not that much around) but I've been working on other things that aren't HP related that have caught my attention too.

Hope you're doing well. And, once again, thank you so much for all your comments. :)
